CHICAGO (April 8, 2016) – The U.S. Women’s National Team match against Japan on June 2 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado, is sold out, including 1,000 standing-room-only tickets. The match will be broadcast on FS1 at 7 p.m. MT from the home of Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids, which seats more than 18,000 fans.
The game will mark a rematch of the historic 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final in Vancouver, B.C. on July 5, 2015. The USA won 5-2 behind Carli Lloyd’s record-setting hat trick while also getting goals from Lauren Holiday and Tobin Heath to claim its record third Women’s World Cup title.
The WNT has a 3-0-0 all-time record in Commerce City, outscoring its opponents 9-2 dating back to 2008. The U.S. last played at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on April 6, 2014, defeating China PR 2-0 with goals from Holiday and Megan Rapinoe.
The U.S. has also sold out its upcoming match against Colombia at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa. which takes place this coming Sunday, April 10. The game can be seen on ESPN at 2 p.m. ET.
This will be the first of two June matches for the WNT as it continues its march toward Brazil and the 2016 Olympic Games. The second match will be announced shortly.
