USA representative Weston FC’s U-13/14 Development Academy team fell out of the knockout round contention at the 2014 Manchester United Premier Cup on Thursday.
The Florida-based side played a competitive match against Valencia CF (Spain), but ultimately dropped a 1-0 decision that morning. That was followed by a 3-0 loss to Joongdong Middle School FC (Korea).
With the two Group B losses, Weston FC is out of the running for one of the top two spots in the group to advance to the knockout round stage. Weston is now 1-3-0 at the prestigious 20-team tournament.
On Friday, Weston faces New Zealand’s Waitakere City FC and will then take on the winner or loser of the matchup between host Manchester United and Austria’s AKA Sturm Graz.
