LONDON (Sept. 5, 2012) – The U.S. Paralympic National Team lost 4-0 against host Great Britain in its final group game in Pool B on Wednesday at the 2012 Paralympics at Riverbank Arena in London.
Despite holding Great Britain to just one goal in the first half, George Fletcher, Ibz Diallo and Jonny Paterson all scored in a 16-minute span ending the second half to give Great Britain the win.
Alex Hendricks, making his first appearance for the U.S. at this year’s Paralympics, stopped eight shots in goal. The 16-year old did well to keep the USA in the match during his first minutes of the tournament.
Through the end of group play, captain Josh McKinney, midfielder Rene Renteria and forward Marthell Vazquez have played every minute for the U.S.
The USA next faces a playoff classification match on Friday, Sept. 7, to determine whether the team will play its final match for fifth or seventh place on Sunday, Sept. 9.
